Home Repairs
Homeowners may submit a home repair application for critical home repairs at any time. Applications are available year-round at KARE during crisis assistance/food pantry hours. All applications must be completed with the assistance of a KARE counselor or staff member.

Please note that the completion of a home repair application does not guarantee repairs. We also partner with Youth Serve and i58 to help with repairs.
Heating/Cooling/Weatherization Programs
We realize home efficiency is the first step in insuring bills are kept under control. Unfortunately, many homeowners are unable to take the necessary steps to make their homes more efficient. That's where we step in. We will work closely with residents to determine which services are the best fit.

We are pleased to be a part of Duke Energy's Income-Qualified Weatherization Program. This program reduces energy consumption for income-qualified customers by directly installing energy-efficient measures and providing education on energy efficiency.

In addition to this program, we also are able to partner with Home Specialties in Lancaster to provide gas fireplaces to homeowners without central heat or a fireplace. Homeowners must qualify and have access to natural gas.

During summer months, we offer a Cooling Assitance Program for clients with excessive cooling bills. This program is provided through funds from Duke Energy.
