On August 24, teams will hit the green and play for cash prizes of up to $1200 at the Kershaw Golf Course. While the golfers win prizes, KARE becomes the bigger winner. The primary goal of this inaugural fundraising event is to raise money to continue funding the services of KARE. Services include a food pantry and crisis assistance program which provides help with necessary utilities to those in need.
In addition to raising funds for KARE, another goal of the tournament is raising awareness of the services offered by KARE since 1982. In addition to the Food Pantry and Crisis Assistance Program, KARE also partners with other agencies in order to provide services unavailable at KARE. SC Works, SC Thrive, and SC Vocational Rehab are among a few. New partnerships are constantly being explored to better serve clients. KARE is excited about a new partnership with the Town of Kershaw as well. Through this connection, the Town of Kershaw eagerly agreed to be a major sponsor of the KARE Golf Tournament. Along with other local businesses, approximately 10 cash prizes are available for teams to win!
Teams will be captain’s choice and consist of four players. The $55 per player registration fee covers a golf cart, green fees and lunch. Mulligans are also available for purchase. To sign up, call the Pro Shop at 803-475-2104. During lunch, from 12-1:30 pm, a silent auction will open to the public. Items are still being gathered, but currently the following items have been acquired: 2 autographed NHRA starting line jerseys, NASCAR memorabilia (Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.), and signed Clemson and USC framed art.
The tournament and silent auction will be held at the Kershaw Golf Course, 301 Club House Drive, Kershaw. If interested in donating to the silent auction, questions about the tournament, or to become a sponsor, contact email@example.com.
